Pico Club and Race Team

Bray Sailing Club - Pico Club 2026 Policy (summary)

Outlined below is how Bray Sailing Club will run Pico Club and Race Coaching during the 2026 sailing season.

For the purposes of instructor / participant ratios Pico Club will be split into two totally separate groups, Pico Club and Race Team.

Pico Club is a fantastic way for our younger trainees to build confidence and skills in a less formal setting than in our training courses. Pico Club provides an opportunity for 'supervised fun' with the instructor team, but no formal instruction is provided. Pico Club will be overseen by our Senior Instructor Anna Cloney, and our Pico Club lead instructor, Eabha Fennema, along with the help of our Irish Sailing qualified instructor team.

The Race Team will be overseen by one of our instructors who has good racing experience.

In order to take part in either Pico club or Race Team the following will apply for the coming season.

  • Must be a fully paid-up member of the club for 2026 season
  • Pico Club is strictly a bookable event, so please do not turn up if you are not booked on as you will not be able to take part.
  • Members will have the opportunity to book onto Pico Club from each Wednesday. for the following Sunday. To be fair to all, please do not book onto Pico Club on two consecutive Wednesdays. If there are still places left on the Thursday morning, you may book on then.
  • We will set a 'Waiting List' each week in case it is needed. That way we can ensure that juniors who were unsuccessful one week will have the first opportunity to book the next week.
  • Juniors should arrive down to Pico Club fully changed and ready to go, they can leave their gear in the changing rooms which will be available for use once Pico Club finishes.
  • The conditions dscribed in the table below apply to each group.
