Let them eat cake!

It's not just all about sailing - one of the most anticipated parts of Junior Training (and one that most mothers dread) is Cake Day.

Every now and again, trainees are asked to bring a nautically themed cake (ideally made by themselves) down for everyone to enjoy and the instructors and assistant instructors spend half the afternoon eating themselves into a sugar induced coma while judging the entries on a number of different criteria, such as pizazz, mouthfeel, aftertaste, theme, etc.

The end of week two saw the first cake day of 2023 and this year our trainees excelled themselves, setting a very high bar for subsequent weeks. Timofei emerged as the winner in a close fought competition.
