First Weekday Cruiser Outing - A joy to be on the sea on such a glorious evening !
The first Weekday outing for the Cruisers proved to be a glorious evening as 14 cruisers lined up in balmy temperatures with light to moderate winds - very light in places - and a very kind sea. It was a night that favoured lighter boats. Funtastique had an unimpressive start and as the winds dropped before the end of the first beat they realised that the reef in their Main was a mistake and went head to wind to take it out and give chase to Saluja. They didn't manage to catch Saluja who finished over 2 minutes ahead of them, but it was enough for them to win on handicap. Fastnet was overly enthusiastic at the start and found to be OCS, which completely ruined their race. It was not the night for every boat and three boats retired. However, given the weather and sea conditions, the whole fleet, including the retirees seemed to enjoy their evening on the water. Soubrette which got an excellent start - winning the FATL - was 2nd on handicap and Déjà Vu, keeping up its consistent performance to date, was 3rd
