About Bray Sailing Club
Bray is a picturesque and easily accessible traditional seaside resort a few miles South of Dublin.
The sailing club overlooks the harbour, which is at the North end of the promenade. The club is more than a hundred years old, and many former members have earned national and international reputations.
We cater for both cruisers and dinghies, with a full programme of racing, cruising and an active sea school providing training courses for adults and juniors.
The tide influences most of our activities, for the harbour dries at low water. Access is possible for most boats, two hours either side of High Water. There is a short term visitors mooring just North of the harbour, suitable for use in calm conditions at the skipper's risk. There are also visitor pontoons suitable for brief alongside berthing against the North wall inside the harbour.
The club runs a year round racing programme. Our cruiser fleet (sailing under ECHO handicapping) races weekly from late April to the end of September, with races every Saturday and on weekday evenings when tides permit. Our dinghy fleet is active all year round, with weekend racing, and a variety of regattas and special events.
Our racing area is between Killiney and Bray Head with the stunning backdrop of the Dublin and Wicklow Mountains
We are very much a volunteer club and we encourage our members to take an active role in all aspects of the club from club racing, cruising, training and social activities
