The Club’s bar is an important part of our activities and helps to ensure both a healthy social and financial life for the club.
The bar opens approximately two hours after First Gun on days when Sailing is scheduled and also opens every Wednesday & Friday night throughout the year at 2115hrs. Outside the sailing season, the bar also opens at 1600hrs on Sunday afternoons.
On Wednesdays and Fridays, the bar is manned by adult members whose names are to be found in the Diary On other occasions the bar is staffed by junior club members.
In addition to the above times, the bar is used on Thursdays by An Béal Binn, who are pleased to welcome club members and their guests in return for a small cover charge.
The club’s bar and kitchen facilities are available for booking by members for private parties on Saturday nights.
Members are reminded that we are dependent on the annual renewal of our bar licence and there are a number of rules to be observed. In particular, please note the following :
When the sailing season has ended new bar weekend bar opening times come into effect. The bar will not normally open on a Saturday (except for social functions or major sporting events) but will be open at 1600hrs every Sunday afternoon. The bar also continues to open at 2115hrs every Wednesday & Friday night. Members are encouraged to support the club's bar which is a substantial source of income for the club.
All non members must sign the visitors’ book (which is on a lectern on the hall) on every occasion on which they visit the club. The Gardai have the right to enter the premises at any time and to inspect the visitors’ book and the membership list (displayed in the hallway). The name of every person found on the premises MUST be either on the membership list or be entered in the visitors’ book on the day in question. In particular, members are reminded that their spouse and children must be signed in as guests if they are not part of a family membership.
