Junior Sailing Courses

COVID-19 UPDATE:

We are pleased to be able to release details  of the courses being offered during the first three weeks of our reduced Junior Training programme. We hope to be able to release details of subsequent courses once we have received updated guidance on social distancing and permissible group sizes.

Bookings for these courses will open at 8pm on Monday 15th June.

We are delighted to announce that Bray Sailing Club was awarded the title of "VOLVO IRISH SAILING TRAINING CENTRE OF THE YEAR" for 2018. This prestigious award recognises the great work and high quality training provided to adults and juniors, including those with disabilities. The award is a great credit to our instructors and volunteers.

We'd like to invite you to come and join us and see what makes Bray SC so special!

In a normal year, Bray Sailing Club provides a busy programme of junior training activities for ten weeks each summer, running from mid-June until the end of August. With an emphasis on lots of fun in a safe environment, we offer courses at all levels in Irish Sailing's Small Boat Sailing Scheme. Every summer, over 150 junior sailors enjoy learning a new sport, improving their existing skills, and having great fun with their friends.

As well as formal sailing courses, we also encourage our junior members to participate in our weekly Pico Club, which gives them an opportunity to sail every Sunday from May to September.

Unfortunately, our 2020 programme has been severely curtailed by COVID-19 and, while we hope to offer a limited form of Junior Training for smaller numbers than usual, we will not be in a position to accommodate our youngest sailors this year.  Also, our Pico Club will not operate in 2020 but we hope to be back bigger than ever in 2021!

Further updates on our Junior Training plans for 2020 will be posted here very shortly.

Bray Sailing Club takes the safety of all our members very seriously, especially our younger members. We have adopted a rigorous Child Safety Policy which governs the safety and protection of our younger members both on the water and ashore, and contains clear guidelines as to how the Club and our leaders communicate and interact with younger members. Our Child Safety Policy is available to view HERE
